What is a Food Pyramid?A food pyramid is a healthy eating guideline. It shows in order the amount of food you should eat and how much of it you should eat. From the bottom to the top it shows greatest to least amount of food you should consume. The pyramid states that you should mainly consume grains such as brown rice, pasta, cereal and bread. Fats and oils should be prevented and not a food source that is regularly in your diet although the occasional fats and oils aren't a problem. Servings The pyramid states that you should eat 5-7 servings of rice and alternatives, 2 servings of fruit and 2 servings of vegetables, 2-3 servings of meat and alternatives and small amounts of sugars and fats and oils. |
